O. Henry was an American short story writer and his stories are known for their surprise ending. His original name was William Sydney Porter who was better known by his pen-name O. Henry. He was born on 11th September in 1862 at Greensboro, US.
He died at the early age of 47 on 5th June 1910 at New York, US.
He was born to Dr. Sydney Porter, a physician and Mary Jane Porter, a homemaker.
Sydney Porter worked with a drug company as a pharmacist and moved on to work for 'Harrell Cigar Store' later.
